REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATION
Applies to positions referred to above that are part of state designated
programs; other professional education staff in the
technical college system. Five Year Certification Requirements WTCS
3.05-WTCS 3.13
An individual can renew their certification by the following requirements:

Education |
Academic subject teacher: Bachelor's degree with a major or 30 sem. cr. in appropriate area. Occupational subject teacher: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with education or training preparing a person for the occupational area being taught.
51. Philosophy of Vocational, Technical and Adult Education 2 cr.* 52. Teaching methods 2 cr.* 53. Educational psychology 2 cr.* 54. Educational evaluation 2 cr.* 55. Guidance and counseling 2 cr.* 57. Major required of academic subject teachers or 30 sem. Cr. in appropriate area 69. Educational diversity 2 cr.* |

Occupational Experience 63 |
Academic subject teacher 12 months in any field except education. Occupational subject teacher - 24 months as a fully qualified worker in each occupational area. |

Same as teaching experience. |
| Teaching Experience |
2 years of full-time or 8 semesters of part-time. |
| Education | Must meet the same requirements as for an instructor, PLUS: academic preparation as a teacher and a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 credits in audio-visual education, instructional media, curriculum, instructional development, television, computers or distance learning. |
| Occupational Experience 63 | 12 months in any field except education. |
| Professional Experience 64 |
2 years as Instructional Specialists. |
| Teaching Experience | 2 years of full-time or 8 semesters of part-time. |

Same requirements as for an instructor, PLUS: 60. 15 credits of professional education appropriate to the administrative position 61. Master's degree or equivalent. |

| Teaching Experience | None. |
* 2 semesters of credit or complete approved equivalent district in-service
activity
** 1 semester credit or 40 verifiable hours of instruction
