Masters Degree Equivalence for Occupational Areas
GUIDELINE DEFINITION
An earned baccalaureate degree plus 14,000 hours of appropriate occupational experience shall be equivalent
to a master's degree, regardless of the order in which the items are obtained.
EXAMPLE
Bill graduated from college with a baccalaureate degree in engineering and then obtained ten years
(20,000 hours) of occupational experience in electronics. He has been hired
as an Instructional Supervisor and has met the master's degree equivalency.
RATIONALE
Section TCS 3.04 (3) states "Occupational experience totaling 7 years or 14,000 hours under
sub.(1) or (2) combined with an earned baccalaureate degree shall be equivalent
to a master's degree."
