Experience Alternative for Instructional Related Supervisors/Administrators
GUIDELINE DEFINITION
An individual receiving Provisional Instructional Related Supervisory or Instructional
Related Administrative certification must meet the occupational experience
that is required for certification for one of the following certification
title codes:
Provisional certification requires two years of teaching experience or an allowable alternative. Individuals not having two
years of teaching experience may use either two years of counseling or supervisory
experience. This experience may not be counted twice as occupational experience.
EXAMPLE
Mary does not have any teaching experience, but she has served two years as a certified
counselor in the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). Her counseling
experience will meet the requirement for two years of teaching experience
when she is employed as an instructional related supervisor.
RATIONALE
The categories of Instructional Related Supervisor/Administrator were created
to give additional opportunities to individuals. Flexibility exists with regard
to this type of certification.
