Certification Guideline 63
SUBJECT
Foreign Transcript Evaluation
GUIDELINE DEFINITION
Degrees, courses and credits used toward certification must be completed at
a regionally accredited post-secondary institution in the United States or an
equivalent foreign institution. Due to the variety of worldwide credit systems,
grading scales, degree levels and language barriers, district and state staff
will be unable to evaluate and determine equivalent educational preparation
through student records from foreign educational institutions. In these situations,
the individual must provide an official evaluation of the foreign record determined
by a professional organization or universities that prepare evaluations and
equivalencies. A translation of the document or transcript will not be sufficient
to determine equivalency.
