WTCS Professional Development Team Charter

Aim:

What is the work of this team?  What is the link to the WTCS Vision?

  • To seek excellence in professional development through networking and sharing of best practices
  • To increase the skills, knowledge and abilities of the members of the WTCS Professional Development Team, which in turn will enable us to maximize growth opportunities for staff development throughout the Wisconsin Technical College System
  • To increase access for staff development by all employees of each district, while working within the constraints of given resources
  • To share and collaborate, first as a district and then throughout several districts
  • To join talent and technology for the purpose of providing learning opportunities
  • To ensure that our stakeholders (WTCS Prof Development Team, college staff, learners, and finally the communities we serve), will benefit from our collaborations
Predicted results:

How will we know that this team has made an improvement?  (Include specific measures and milestones.)  How will our stakeholders be impacted?

  • Better trained and informed staff resulting in higher quality student learning and ultimately, stakeholder satisfaction and success
  • More efficient use of resources resulting in:
    • access to a wider variety of professional development opportunities for staff
    • reductions in duplicated efforts, cost, time, energy and money
    • increase in access to and quality of professional development opportunities for WTCS faculty and staff development professionals
  • Strong presence of and support for the WTCS Professional Development Team at both the district and state level resulting in a clear identification of the commitment to being learning colleges within a learning system

  • General constraints of time, budget, location,
  • Issues related to districts having varied administrative procedures, diverse institutional cultures, and differing governance structures
  • Scope of our collaborative efforts is limited to professional development
