II. JOB DUTIES WHICH AN INDIVIDUAL
SHOULD HAVE PERFORMED IF THEY ARE TO FUNCTION AS AN INSTRUCTOR
- Working knowledge of metal processes and
machine shop.
- Inspects, overhauls, repairs, paints,
cleans, greases and otherwise services automotive and
construction equipment
- Inspects, services, diagnoses, repairs,
and overhauls gasoline and diesel engines, standard and
automatic transmissions.
- Inspects, services, diagnoses, repairs and
overhauls front and rear axles, hydraulic and air brake
systems, springs, electrical systems, cooling systems,
hydraulic systems, and other chassis and auxiliary
components.
- Aligns front ends.
- Inspects, diagnoses and repairs minor
structural failures and cracks in metal and fiberglass
booms, frames and support.
- Repairs and maintains electric, diesel,
and gasoline industrial trucks: following manuals, using
hand tools, and power tools utilizing knowledge of
electrical, power transmission, brake, and other
automotive systems.
- Reads job order and observes and listens
to truck in operation to determine malfunction and to
plan work procedures.
- Installs new ignition systems, aligns
front wheels, changes or recharges batteries, and
replaces transmissions and other parts using hand tools.
- Overhauls gas or diesel engines using
mechanics' hand tools, welding equipment, standard
charts, and hoists.
- Examines protective guards, loose bolts,
and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes
adjustments using hand tools.
- Lubricates moving parts, and drives
repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
- May fabricate special lifting or towing
attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices
according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
