In order to become certified at the provisional level to teach any course numbered within instructional area (804) Mathematics, the individual must:

Individuals satisfying the requirement necessary for a five-year certificate must:

Individuals satisfying the requirement necessary for a five-year certificate must have a major or thirty credits drawn from the Mathematics department. Courses from other departments will be considered only if accompanied by a written statement from the mathematics department chair of an accredited university that the course or a portion of the course is equivalent to a course counting towards a minor or major in Mathematics.

The following are examples of university course titles which might be recognized as supporting certification, if they come from the mathematics department:

Trigonometry

Calculus & Analytic Geometry

Differential Equations

Modern Geometry

Finite Math

Abstract Algebra

Numerical Analysis

Linear Algebra

Matrix Theory

Statistics

Discrete Mathematics

Mathematics Analysis
