In order to become certified at the provisional level to teach any course numbered within instructional area (808) Reading, the individual must:
Individuals satisfying the requirement necessary for a five-year certificate do not need any additional credits. A masters degree in Reading, the largest source of Reading courses, typically has only about twelve credits that are actual Reading courses.
Courses from other departments will be considered only if accompanied by a
written statement from the Reading department chair of an accredited university
that the course or a portion of the course is equivalent to a course counting
towards a minor or major in Reading.
