Prior Certification Decisions

GUIDELINE DEFINITION
Prior decisions regarding Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) certification will be recognized when subsequent certification requests are submitted for that individual.

EXAMPLE
Joe was hired in 1978 and received a Five-Year certificate in 1982 as an instructor for instructional area 806 (Science). A request for Provisional certification is now being submitted for instructional area 804 (Mathematics).

It cannot be assumed that Joe has completed Requirement 69 - Educational Diversity since the requirement did not exist when Joe received his Five-Year certification in 806. Joe will have to document completion of this requirement before he will receive a Five-Year certificate for the 804 area.

RATIONALE
Some code requirements have changed over time. Individuals appointed to new assignments must meet current code requirements.
