SUBJECT
Requirement 64 - Part-Time Instructor Documentation
GUIDELINE DEFINITION
Individuals holding Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) certification as part-time
instructors for a period of at least four years prior to August 31, 1994, will
be viewed as having completed requirement 64.
If an individual moves from the position of instructor
to a different position requiring teaching experience, such as instructional
supervisor, documentation must be provided that the individual does have the
necessary two years of teaching as required by the code.
EXAMPLE
May held approval status for course 10-101-115 (Accounting Principles) from August 31, 1989 through
August 31, 1994. She has completed requirement 64.
EXAMPLE
Mark held approval status
for instructional area 101 (Accounting) for the period of August 31, 1973 through
August 31, 1977. He did not teach after August 31, 1977. He has returned as
of August 31, 1994. He has satisfied requirement 64.
RATIONALE
Districts do not necessarily have records of the actual dates part-time staff may have taught
prior to May 1, 1993. The records that may exist are not always readily accessible,
such as by computer. There was no reason for districts to maintain this information
prior to May 1, 1993, and it may not be possible for some districts to retrieve
this information.
