Fire Fighter I
For Wisconsin certification at this level the candidate shall have met
the requirements defined in Sections 2-1 through 2-3 and the job performance
requirements defined in Sections 3-2 through 3-5 of National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA) 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications
and in Chapter 2, Competencies for the First Responder at the Awareness
Level of NFPA 472, Standard for Professional Competence of Responders
to Hazardous Materials Incidents. Certification is awarded upon
the candidate passing written and practical skills exams.

For certification at this level, the Wisconsin Certified Fire Fighter
I shall meet the job performance requirements defined in Sections 4-2
through 4-5 of NFPA 1001 and the requirements defined in Chapter 3,

472. Certification is awarded upon the Certified Fire Fighter I passing
written and practical skills exams.
