Fire Fighter II

This 42-hour course prepares the participant to be able to perform fire fighting functions at an advanced nationally recognized level under general supervision.

The targeted audience is individuals who have completed the training required to meet the Fire Fighter I JPRs in NFPA 1001, and desire to increase their knowledge and skills base to next level.

This course, when taken in subsequent to completion of the Fire Fighter I course, is designed to provide the Fire Fighter II candidate with the information needed to meet the job performance requirements (JPRs) in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, Chapter 4. It is based on the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Essentials of Fire Fighting, 4th Edition curriculum. The participant must also take the Hazardous Materials Operation Level course in order to meet the remainder of the NFPA Fire Fighter II JPRs.
